Moddiction
I just spoke with them and from reading about the turbo it seems like a really nice turbo! They said it is slightly larger than an 18g turto and around 20 psi should flow 45lbs and make around 330whp or so on 93 pump gas but hit full boost by about 3100-3200. http://www.cavalliturbo.com/CTB28WRX08 Fairly pricey. I might carry their brand so I would get a discount but might wait to see some installed dyno's to see how they perform. What do you guys think of them? 500HP Rating 51mm inducer/ 47mm exducer. 18 Month Unlimited Mileage Warranty 100% New Turbo Patented Triplex Ceramic Ball Bearing System Billet CHRA and 7/14 Compressor Wheel Turbosmart 14 psi Internal Wastegate Actuator Included Bolts Directly to Top Mount Intercooler Fully Rebuildable Drop-In Installation WWW.MODDICTION.COM Moddiction Stainless steel and Titanium shift knobs. 06silvarubiLGT
I think someone else mentioned them a few weeks ago.. May want to ask around on Nasioc- those guys will try anything, sometimes more than once!! Seems legit though, some pretty sweet center sections, and fully rebuildable! Moddiction
Yeah they seem really nice! Expensive turbo but if it really does spool up as fast as a 16g as they claimed it would be really nice! Fully rebuildable is nice as well as all made in the US with only best quality parts it seems. They did say that after market oil lines with this turbo may be an issue. You would possibly have to install a restrictor to limit the oil pressure going into the turbo I guess due to being ball bearing and not journal bearing. The IPT oil line kit might have enough restrictions but they said if it smokes right off the bat then you need a restrictor pill of some sort to restrict the oil pressure into the turbo. 06silvarubiLGT
hmm.. that sounds like they should make and sell something with their turbo's, I smell warranty battles if its not something they provide.. just a thought

mwiener2
I have experience with a stage 1 turbo for a 08 WRX. It's been a shaky road, but their customer service is second to none on getting the issues resolved. (most other stock location turbo companies would have said take a hike with the first issue) Dynojet, 5500' ASL 91oct- 309tq, 320hp peak torque at about 4200 rpm E85 - 396tq, 369hp peak torque at about 4200 rpm now the car is on a stage 2 cavalli, no numbers yet My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
covertrussian
CNC aluminum CHRA is very interesting, wonder it can warp though. As for restrictor, it looks like a 1/8 npt .035" restrictor should do the trick. I ran one of the ATP AN -4 to 1/8npt ones on my ball bearing Garrett's, even though it wasn't a must due to built in restrictor. Made it it easier to connect SS braided oil lines and provided and extra piece of mind. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK
mwiener2
Oiling had not been a problem with the cavali. It is designed to use factory oil lines. Turbos, contrary to popular belief, don't need much oil. My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
