allante666
HI all I have a 2000 Legacy 2.5 GX on LPG. All ok except the LCD odometer just displays a series of dashes instead of the mileage! If i use it in trip mode, its fine so its not the dispaly itself which is at fault. Any Ideas??

Van Johnson112
this happened to my friends volkswagon, turns out he had a dying battery.
allante666
Yeah i considered the battery, i have a BMW 7 which if the battery drops even slightly it throws all sorts of errors at you and puts the transmission into limp mode! However...brand new battery so not that!

allante666
dont know, im guessing the signal comes from the speedo head and its all in the same bit. The signal from the g/box must be ok as the trip and speedo work fine. I think it will remain a mystery unless someone with the same fault comes along with a quick fix! RumbleRumble
Battery wouldn't cause but sounds like a bad cluster.
bwindle
alright, well it looks like used clusters are a dime a dozen on ebay so I'll have to see if I my mechanic can reprogram the keys at least if not the odometer.
