John M
I painted my brake calipers today. Dark blue with a silver Subaru logo: The blue is actually darker than in the pics (flash), as close as I could get to the blue in the Subaru emblems on the car. It was done with engine paint, some painter's masking tape, and SUBARU stickers from Flip Messaging in Sarasota, FL. Not only does John make great stickers, he's a Subaru fan too. The stickers were $6 shipped for a pair. He also sells several great Subaru "AWD" decals, both in color and in a frosted look. I think I may get a pair for the small windows on the rear doors. You can find these & more at their Ebay Store I am not affiliated with Flip Messaging in any way. I'm just a satisfied customer

John M
Let me add that the SUBARU is not a sticker. I used a sticker as a template. First I sprayed it silver, then applied the sticker after it dried, and then I sprayed the whole thinig blue. Peeling off the sticker revealed the SUBARU in silver. I'll have more pics w/ the wheel on. It got dark as I was finishing, plus I want to wash the car first :D
fbi012
ok will be waiting for that. I cant really tell how nice it looks by just looking at those pictures, how hot you think it looks on a scale from 1 to 10, also, is ur LGT blue?
fbi012
ok its red i just noticed on the profile, y did you paint them blue then?
John M
Red on red would look bad. Black would blend in ok, as would silver. The dark blue is just noticable when walking by the car, and it goes with the overall look of the car well. The full car pics will show the overall impact - I really like it. ppt
Here are mine. My objective was to prevent the rust/corrossion look, so went with simple black. Rotors were painted silver with Tremclad hi-heat paint. http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=2627330093&congratulation_page=Y
Xenonk
was the paint you used a brush-on or spray on? which type did you use and did you pull off the entire caliper to paint it? Or did you just newspaper the whole wheel well to paint it? Keefe Keefe

burkamcc
Hi guys, I'm a new member as of today. I'm a first time Subaru owner as of July 27, 2004. I bought a 2005 Legacy GT Limited Wagon in Briliant Silver exterior and black interior with a 5 sp AT. I love it. It's quick and fun to drive, but I wish it were faster. It would be nice if it had twin turbo intercooled with a chip upgrade and modified transmission gearing.

Max Capacity
Give the new guy a break, he'll figure it out. My 05 GT Wagon is black also. My 00GT black Wagon I painted the brakes red. But with this blue pearl in the black I'm thinking silver or maybe John M's blue. Those look real good. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. Deer Killer
You painted your rotors? WTF????! hahahahahahaha
It should work fine for daily driving. Rotors that big are not going to get red hot unless you're really trying.
Legacy05GT
what color should i do on black?
I think black would look good w/ Black calipers. Gold looks like your trying to fake the Brembo BBK. I think the gold goes better on the sti's since their black has gold flakes.
