Kennyfvholla
That would be a bad axle, my friend. Most likely the passenger side. Check the boots for tears.
SomethingWittyAsAUsername
Here's another vote for the axle. Check your boots and fix it ASAP if It's broken. Broken axles are no fun.
odycee
Torn CV boot at passenger side common problem. How do we know it's on the passenger's side? Because it sits on top of the cat with a lot of HEAT.
Kennyfvholla
Both driver and passenger sides are equally apt to fail. Also, they don't usually fail on the inside (close to the transmission) because MUCH more stress is on the outer part (at the wheel).
syber_d
Not the case with my set up. I have done a inner reboot once and gonna be doing a second replacement on the pass side in about 2 1/2 years all because of the heat soaking in. I think im gonna fab up a heat shield of some sort for the dp to keep heat off the inner cv boot. Any thoughts???
Ibenz
Its the inside pass side. I've rebuilt the axel once about 4 months ago. Thanks for the help. Are the pass side and drive side the same axle? Also front to back?
SomethingWittyAsAUsername
Front axles are the same. However the rear axle varies from left to right I believe and is surely different from the front axles
Ibenz
Thanks, can i go ebay axles or should I go to a parts store? The one at the part store is $130 with lifetime warranty I believe.
