N.sane
+1 for Plasti Dip. Used it on my grill this past summer. No issues so far since it's not actual paint. We'll see how it does through the winter. Unless you scraped off the chrome, normal spray paint will start to peel off from the chrome over time. For some reason the paint doesnt like to bond with the chrome very well. My girlfriend had the same issue with her Lancer when she blacked out her grill and middle section of the front bumper. The paint was peeling off the chrome grill, but was flawless on the bumper.

eurolatin33
Thanks guys im going to try to get some plastic dip over the weekend, but at least that awful chrome is off the grill.
gil_ong
i did mine a few weekends ago. washed everything down with purple power. wet sanded the chrome wings and the "bezel." taped the badge and blasted away. it surprised me that the coverage from the dip is quite light. had to spray on many many layers. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6086/6110306548_6e896f036d_b.jpg
JimyJoeBob
i didnt sand anything on my grill. just sprayed with the plasti-dip. i did the wings a couple months ago and still look good, just did the outer ring a couple days ago. if you tape anything off and spray with plasti-dip, remember to take the tape off early or be very careful because when taking the tape off it will peel the paint off. shribob
Plasti-dip works very well. I've had it on mine for a good 4 months without any issues. Only issue is I got some wax on there that dried a little and can't figure out how to get it off unless I respray.
gil_ong
Thanks for the heads up. I'll make sure to armor all the bejeebus out of it before applying wax.
