Drive a little bit car warms up and at stoplights a burnt rubber smell is coming through the heater vents. Under the hood, is?everything appears fine and tight. Anyone know what this is? Max Capacity Posted December 10, 2012 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Have you looked up from under the car ? check the right front axle boots. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. doobaruGT Posted December 10, 2012 Share Posted December 10, 2012 I had the same issue but after a hard drive on some back roads, the smell is no more. I had also checked my right front axle boot thinking that was the culprit but it was good. I can't explain it but it's true. Updated parts list since original part-out here. chucky_z Posted December 10, 2012 Share Posted December 10, 2012 You might not like this answer, but it's very likely you got a plastic bag or something caught underneath your car and now all thats left is the tiny remnants that are smoking you out.
