300zx2g35
Started to convert the exteriror lights on my Legacy to LEDs over the Christmas holiday. I had to fix the rotation on my driverside retrofit so i decided to start with the front park/turn lights. Board mounted in the park/turn area: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/LED%20Work/IMAG0101.jpg Park Lights along with Audi-style strips: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/LED%20Work/IMAG0103.jpg The inside of the ring is the turn signal. Unfortunately I forgot to take pics of it during my testing. I'll try to get a video of them once I get in my LED flasher module to get rid of the hyper-flash. Headlight back together: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/LED%20Work/IMAG0105.jpg Also decided to go ahead and do my third-brake light: http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/LED%20Work/IMAG0097.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/LED%20Work/IMAG0095.jpg Still trying to find a good condition passenger side tail light so that I can start on the tails. metsfan999
I like the amber turn signal leds. The Audi style, not so much. I'd leave that, to well, Audis. Good job nonetheless.
TheDon427
I agree. Great work, but would prefer to see it without the cheesy LED strip along the bottom.
300zx2g35
Started working on the tails today and took apart the driverside. So for anyone wondering what an '08-'09 tail looks like apart: Full tail http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/LED%20Work/IMAG0115.jpg Apart http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/LED%20Work/IMAG0116.jpg Reflector area http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/LED%20Work/IMAG0117.jpg Lens http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/LED%20Work/IMAG0118.jpg

300zx2g35
Ended up redoing the boards because I didn't like the holes showing so I covered the boards in silver reflective tape and then put the LEDs on them. Also ended up taking out the LED strips because I already started having problems with them. http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q267/300zx2g35/Subaru%20Legacy/LED%20Work/IMAG0130.jpg Hard to tell because I didn't take any pics till after I put it all back together. Also here's a video of how I have the turn signals setup: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2t-1J6-Et8]Subaru Legacy LED Turn Signal - YouTube[/ame]

AkumaMax
Those LED turn signals is just what I wanted. After seeing the newer BMW's with them they looked so nice. Everything looks good mang.

DRoc7822
This looks pretty sweet. I'm sure if you wanted to make a lil extra money on the side and had the free time. You could make a killing if you made sets for the community.
AkumaMax
Yea I would be down for a set of the Front turn signals for sure.
planelazy
Are you all having to use resistors for the LED's and for the turn signals?
planelazy
I've thought about doing something similar, but using inline resistors. I understand how to wire stuff and soldering, but figuring out which resistors, and how many (more like calculating how much resistance I need) I haven't figured out. One thing I've been toying with is trying to design the use an acrylic rod for tail lights like on some BMW's and newer Mercs.
easton
Just get one of the special turn relays for LED lights, much easier, more efficient, more reliable, and more elegant than resistors.
scottmcphee
Check this idea out for a proposed solution for all this: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/led-signal-flasher-built-tap-turn-triple-blink-convenience-187325.html?p=3931848#post3931848 Post there about it. buddhahands
Would totally be interested in you doing the same thing to my 09GT's third brake light! I'm just down in NoVA if you're available and willing to replicate what you've done! Looks great.
