10gt
Hey everyone, I am new to the forum and looked around and didnt see anyone with any walkthroughs for a starter replacement. We all know its next to impossible to get any information on the 5th gen so I've been struggling to find any help with replacement. Anybody have any tips to replace a starter motor? I know the intercooler needs to come off but I'm generally new to everything subaru and repair so this seemed like a good small project to work on with my buddy that does this type of stuff on his audi. Any input appreciated. Brian

FLlegacy
Fairly simple sort of, just remove the two bolts holding it, after disconnecting the battery and then the starter cable and solenoid connector. The lower bolt is not fun to get off, but is manageable.
GTEASER
^^ This. And the intercooler can be tricky but not impossible. Get rid of the throttle body hose couplers if you haven't already and make sure you crank those clamps down good.
