QToo
My other post was about my Leg GT not starting. Upon further review, turns out that the ignition cylinder is the problem. I took apart the steering column and pulled the ignition switch. There was a small piece of the key cylinder that had broken off and wouldn't allow the key to turn far enough to start the car. (the piece is a small "blade" that fits into the switch and turns when the key is rotated). I was able to get the engine to turn over by using a screwdriver to turn the switch (wouldn't start because the immobilizer kicks in). Has anyone had this problem before? If yes, how did you fix? Can the key cylinder be removed and re-keyed? One dealer says I need to replace the entire ignition setup and re-program all my keys. I have to believe there is an easier and less expensive fix. Could I go with a used part? My dash is apart and the car is undrivable. Any fast responses would be appreciated so I can get back on the road.
