roundthirteen
So I've always used extra S in my 6mt and the Subaru "R180" LSD oil in the rear diff on my 08 Spec B. I went to buy some more R180 from Fred Bean and didn't see it but did see "Subaru Hypoid LSD oil" which they said was good in the 6 speed rear diffs. Anyone know any more, is this just a renaming? http://www.fredbeansparts.com/subaru-hypoid-lsd-oil-1-liter.html My car's not a sleeper it's a hibernator. http://pure-tuning.com
ras06LGT
The rear LSD is a sealed unit, so you should be able to use most any standard 75W-90 gear oil for the pinion sump. You can use Extra S, or another popular option is the Motul Gear300.
Th3Franz
The 08 Spec B has a helical/torsen rear diff. It's not clutch type so you don't need any friction modifier. Just run a standard gear oil. -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
