kalectic
My 08 legacy's radio turns on & off, the volume changes and also from radio to cd by itself. The display also goes on & off. I recently was driving and the radio turned on a volume 26 shaking the window. An auto repair shop called a salvage yard to check on a radio and was told this was a common request. The dealer said to buy new radio. Any help here is appreciated.

Pako
I had the same issue when I first got my '08. Took it to the dealer both times, and both times they swapped the head unit out. I have not had any issues since. And yes, it also affected the A/C display as well.

kalectic
thank you! I wish Subaru would recall a bad radio as I am out of warranty. This happened once before and it just started working normally and problem is back again.

brad_houck
i read somewhere that the connector between the face plate and the actual unit can become loose and that causes this. this happened to me before very frequently and i removed the radio and separated the face plate to check that connector and made sure it was in securely and then re installed radio and it hasnt happened since. hope this helps.
