rao
I've seen the Lachute parts in person and the quality is first-rate. I am sure the Cobb parts are nice as well, but no one has seen them yet Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT
PLTek
their parts are beautiful, i will take some pics of the COBB DP for WRX and post them so people can see, since I will not have the COBB DP for LGT until COBB releases them PS PLTek,llc

Triple Digits
Lachute told me that their downpipe didn't mate to the stock catback flange...
KGreb
Lachute told me that their downpipe didn't mate to the stock catback flange... Interesting, as I am running a stock catback with the Lachute downpipe. No leaks, no problems. Perhaps they changed the design to a flat flange instead of a donut gasket? PLTek
as far as i know Lachute downpipe has an identical end to that of stock so that you can fit the donut on it. I saw pics of lachute dp in one of the posts. I will ping them to make sure that this is the case. I am still waiting on the first tbe system from them so I wil know for sure within a week. They are makeing a first custom round tip exhaust for me. Best Peter Sz PLtek, llc

Triple Digits
Lachute told me that their downpipe didn't mate to the stock catback flange... My bad - I was thinking of iON - sorry... We had just taken a look at the DP flanges again on the LGT, they’re different bolt spacing them our 3” or 2.5” flanges. We may end up offering our complete set-up which includes a 3” hi-flow cat. Then at least this will have the same bolt spacing and will bolt-up to the mid-pipe. So far none of our exhaust systems have triggered a CEL. Also the 3” highflow cat we use is more efficient then any of the stock cats. The cat converters themselves will allow the car to pass the sniffer test in California (it’s the same hi-flow cat we use in our WRX systems which have been out for many years). If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. Best Regards, Jack iON Performance
iamboon
Just received my Lachute DP for my 05 LGT AT from Peter at pltek.net. The quaility Peter spoke of exceeded my expectations as well as doing business with his company. I have also ordered a Cobb uppipe from him and other horsepower upgrades. I am new to the Legacy world and was referred to Peter by a long time member of this forum. Peter is a trusted advisor and is worth making a call to.... and no this is not a paid endorsement just a very satisfied customer
PLTek
In terms of Lachute, they offer both versions on the dp so if you are buying just a downpipe and want it to mate to stock catback, you will have an end that accomodates the "donut". If you want to go with the full turboback, the flange on the dowpipe will be flat and the opening 3 inches to mate properly with the center pipe which has flat flanges and is 3 inches in diameter on both sides. I hope this helps. PS PLTek,llc

PLTek
mycotopian- I just pmd you but yes, COBB is finished off with same flange as stock to accomodate the donut. crash-- These are prices for a full size downpipe. "MadDad", you have to buy 2 pieces go get full downpipes so if you were to go by WRX prices, MadDad shorty downpipe is 189 and then secondary pipe with high flow cat is 349, so the total comes out to 538, in the same ballpark. crash
mycotopian- crash-- These are prices for a full size downpipe. Best Regards, PS PLtek, llc From a NASIOC post from MadDad: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=728648 MadDad Essential Series Divorced Wastegate Downpipe: Although this is a no frills divorced wastegate downpipe, you'll apprecaite the stainless steel construction and fully polished pipe work. Replacing the 2nd and 3rd cat in the WRX. Estimated retail price in the area of $275-289. Your catless downpipe: Catless Downpipe fits 05 Legacy GT --475USD shipped if MadDad Doesn't include shipping, that's still nearly a $175 difference. PLTek
crash, you forgot to mention that we also offer a Perrin Catless downpipe for 349 shipped. What is wrong with that? (: MadDad prices are estimates only and they are for WRX, lets wait and see what the actual price will be. Then you have to take it a step further and have them make one for Legacy GT Peter Sz PLtek, llc
