SteveFromMass
One of the possible issues with running performance parts on your stock TMIC is that it may start to leak. This occurs because the intake pressure weakens the compression seal of the TMIC core to its plastic. Mine decided to let go down by the turbo inlet. You can try to pinch the tabs with a lock-wrench, but the leak will come back. I am running a COBB AP, COBB Up, COBB down, Borla Cat Back, and TDC V2 map. This sees 18.5psi of boost. I am going to try and JB Weld it till my FMIC comes in and will let you know what the results are. If you look at the last photo you can see the core itself is not very well designed. mwiener2
it's actually designed fairly well as far as heat transfer goes. It might not flow as well as an aftermarket, but it probably removes more heat. fweasel
The guy that runs his LGT in SCCA events used hose clamps around the entire end tank holding the fins firmly inplace. I always thought that was the best "fix" for this issue on the stock TMIC. ignore him, he'll go away.
