Do your own labor on jack stands or ramps. (not just a jack)

fun, easy, learning experience... lots of money saved.

you can find step by steps for each part. and tools are simple wrenches/ ratchet.

I have always liked to do the work myself.. Then I think about my warranty and the fear something will break and the dealer will blame me for #1) not maintaining it, or (#2) not being certified to do the maintenance work myself.

If you decide to do the work yourself, document it.

The date, oil used, oil weight and keep receipts.

Mine cost about $600 when I got it done at the dealer. That price includes a rental car, so that does help with the inconvenience. Honestly I'd love to be able to do the work myself but I don't have the tools, or even the place to do it.

Sometimes living in an apartment really sucks if you like your car.

Aren't you supposed to flush the radiator too? Change brake fluid?

Find any good local repair shop and ask them how much they will charge you. I'll bet it will be a lot cheaper.

I do all my own, keep a small note pad with the mileage, date, what I did. Such as R&R oil &filter, R & R tranny and rear end fluid, I don't put down what I used. When they rebuilt my tranny, they asked about the service records, they photo copied my small note pad and that was all they needed.

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
