Perscitus
Posting up a set of photos showing what latest-gen CREE LED bulbs look like in our headlights! Personally I like them very much, a big improvement over halogens, similar to HIRs. A few notches below HIDs, but they don't blind oncoming traffic, even the high-beams have close to zero glare. This is not a GB or an advertisement, just a record of how they look installed in: low-beams (H7) @48W,high-beams (9005) @48Wfogs (H11) @ 48Wposition lights (194/168) @11Wfog-bezel DRLs (hardwired) @7W Pics legend (beam throw): DRLs onlylow-beams onlylow-beams + fogslow-beams + high-beams Pics legends (angled-front) position lights onlyposition lights + low-beamslow-beams + high-beams + DLRsposition lights + low-beams + fogs
valkrie hunter
Would be nice if you could do a 30 ft wall shot (on a light colored wall) to show the light spread pattern. How was the wiring for these? Fairly simple or had to create your own wiring harness with fuses etc? Thanks!

Perscitus
Op, would you pm me where you purchased these bulbs? I am interested in trying them out on my 08.PM sent. cant wait to get mine for the fogs!Great! You will like them, I'm sure. They are nice and bright, great color-match to HIDs, emit little heat in the housing (although the bulbs themselves get hot), won't melt or discolor any fog overlays. SCHM1AN
OP, where did you buy these?
Perscitus
For the H7, H11 and 9005s - I picked them up directly from the manufacturer in China. I can PM you contact details. They come in all socket flavors. For the position lights (194/168) - I got them from http://www.autolumination.com/ Its the 11W model, second bulb down in the 194 section. Chose the bright white color, still gives off that interesting blue hue at the tip.
ehsnils
You have to be carefull when fitting LED lights, the cheap ones will cause interference(which is pretty much most of the ebay ones) to your cars electrical system. That's mostly a problem for CAN bus vehicles which do have detection of broken bulbs. Not a problem for Subies.
TTG
these are drop in plug n play kits just like hids OP, Can you please let us know if the lights are plug and play. I might start testing these out on fogs prior to switching my headlights out.

Perscitus
Yep, confirmed. PnP like regular bulbs, same sockets, etc. The only difference is there are tiny drivers and/or fans that are part of each bulb setup. They use the same wiring, no splicing, cutting, no extra power feeds.

Perscitus
The latest-gen LEDs we just installed yesterday (after a 4 month winter wait) in the WRX: Unionlux 45w, 4500lm, 4 Philips Lumiled COB chips, OEM-like bulb socket and plug connectors: http://www.unionlux.com/_d276913130.htm Pics: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=43250663&postcount=762 VLEDs sells them now as a re-branded kit too: http://www.vleds.com/led-headlights/lmz/h11-ultra-lmz.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBnpLt8djI8
Garino55
I read (and saw pictures) that the cutoff is not good like HID's when you put the LED's into projector housings. Is this true?

Garino55
So these 4500 lumen LED's are worth purchasing and will have good light output and cutoff? its still hard to tell from the videos and all.
Perscitus
My personal take is yes - they have very good output, sharp bright cutoff (if you remove the squirrel finders), perfect OEM-HID-like color (not blue or purple). They also allow you to orient them every 90 degrees in the socket (for rotated sockets like on the 2015 WRX high-beams). Fit behind out dust caps with the driver units for the 5th gen Legacy low-beams. No cutting, direct PnP - so you can always go back to regular bulbs at any time. Plus they have a per-bulb depth adjustment to adjust where the LEDs are in reference to the reflector or the projectors (in/out adjustment) to get the best possible light output off the reflectors and projectors. No dead spots (like on the previous gen bulbs) due to the thin design. Here are the contact details: Contact Sharon, email below (mention referral by Michal Lightwerkz) Sharon | Sales Executive Unionlux Lighting Co., Limited sharon@unionlux.com Request a quote for H7 (projector low-beams), [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&index=automotive&keywords=9005%2Bhb3&linkCode=ur2]9005/HB3[/ame] (reflector high-beams), H11 (fogs). Their H11s fit H16 housing too. Price wise these are reasonably priced ($68/set of two + shipping). Effectively the price of top-tier halogens. At this price, you can pickup three sets (for all locations, shipped) for the price of one set from VLEDs.... http://www.vleds.com/led-headlights/lmz/h11-ultra-lmz.html
