I also used a 30% vinyl on mine (http://www.headlightarmor.com/10-14-subaru-legacy-smoked-taillight-kit.aspx). I took my time with it and used a heat gun to make the application easier, but in the end, it turned out great. Its pretty thick so you'd need a heat gun to stretch it, which I didn't have so the corners look bad. There's a billion 5th gen Legacies in the burbs of Boston. Not too many LGTs though, understandably. Still, I've seen more LGTs than most, despite never being spotted by other forum members on the road. But, you can't take a 20 minute drive without encountering at least 1 5th gen 2.5i. Stopped in Vegas for a night then ran through a freak hail storm on 15 south back to LA. I'm sure it's not as noticeable to others, but the right side and roof of my car are ding central now.
