wheel fitment question

looking for help with wheel fitments, I have an 05 Legacy GT and want to upgrade my wheels to 18" but do not want to have to deal with rolling my fenders so I guess I am asking what's the best wheel width and tire size that would not rub and that's good for daily driving?

Read Xenonk's sticky at the top of the wheels/tires forum. It has all the info you need. The most common upsize is probably a 18x7.5 or 18x8 with a 225/40-18. These are SSR Type F 18x7.5 +48 with a 225/40. No rubbing, great ride. I'm lowered on Konis struts and Cobb springs without any trouble.

The offset of the wheels and desired ride height come into play when trying to avoid rubbing. Low offset wheels are a common cause of rubbing, so stick to offsets like +45 - +53. This also reduces added stress to wheel bearings, which is a known weak point in Legacies.
