2.5i Short Shifter???

Recommended Posts

Go Kartboy or go home. :D

Seriously though, Tom Deadrick is a fantastic person, a great engineer, and the Subaru community loves his shifters for darn good reason.

A tip! Regardless what shifter you get, in order to pop that pivot ball in place, a 32 oz. rubber mallet is your friend.

How do you like it, how low did you adjust it...if all the way was it enough?

Very happy with it. I have had to snug up the bolt once since install to get rid of a resonance/rattle but that would be same with any unit of similar design. I didn't tighten it enough when I first installed because I didn't want to introduce too much friction at the pivot.

As far as height, IIRC, the taller you leave the adjustable part, the shorter the throw. I adjusted it to keep the throw as short as possible without the shifter assembly touching the metal plate that surrounds the opening. If it was any shorter throw, the linkage was encountering interference.

Its a significant difference over stock - so yes, I'm pleased with it and it was enough :)
