Fumoto Drain Plugs

Has anyone ever installed these on their 2.5i?

 

Doing some research and it seems like 'F-105' would be the size to fit our cars.

 

I've seen various people use these but never put too much thought into looking at them until now.

Interesting. We used similar valves on airplanes I worked on in the past, definitely helps keep things clean.

 

I don't see why it wouldn't work..

Just wanted to have some user input. I've heard reviews, both good and bad. Some people have these things leak on them and some run them for years without issue... just wanted to hear some feed back from people who use them.

Yes it has been used buy 2.5i and turbo folk alike. I think a few years ago folks were afraid of leakage but those valves have stood up to many tests on many different makes and models. I looked into getting one myself but never pulled the trigger but it has always lingered around my mind

This has been a great mod for me so far. Saves time and mess, and a few bucks spent on drain plug gaskets. But in my opinion it has already saved me its cost in time alone.

Yeah, I'm gonna get one for my wife's bimmer.

I've got one on my legacy and the wife's outback, easily justified when you are doing your own oil.

I've got one on mine.. Love it. No issues. Same part number you're looking at.

Super easy to use. I trimmed some of the threads down so I can get most of the bottom oil out. Just pull up to a storm drain and flip the switch, then fill.

on both my subarus for 2 years now, no issues what so ever. I am considering magnetic plug though for spec B

You can put a magnet on the outside of the oil pan near the drain plug and leave it there all the time. That will hold metal fragments and shavings on the inside of the pan where the magnet is and when you drain it, just remove the magnet before the drain and any debris should get washed right out the drain hole.

these drain plugs are awesome! i used them on my 05 STi and my 07 legacy. I got mine from SoJDM.com, i dont know exactly what part number for specific models, i just emailed them and they hooked me up with the correct drain plug. you wont be disappointed, it makes oil changes a breeze

After reading this thread, I was quite interested in installing this on my car...The application page only has two options: f-108 for '10 and newer Subaru models, and f-105 for the "Saabaru." I own an 07 2.5i Legacy, any advice as to which plug to purchase?

Just bought one today, should be here next week will install during my next oil change. Also going to perform the mod to allow all the oil to drain.

Get the 105s, it has a small nipple. It comes with a plastic clip that will go over it, then you just need a couple feet of 3/8 id hose to drain into an old 5 quart container.
