Exhaust Audio/Video Clip Compilation Thread - 2.5i Edition

Not sure about that one. What's the ground clearance on it? May help determine if it fits or not, if anyone's running a GT under-tray. I was looking for one after I did my custom piping too, but never came across any at a reasonable price/distance.

Because I'm lowered on Bilsteins/Swifts, not sure how relevant a ground clearance measurement would be in my particular case. Hoping someone has actually tried it.

 

There's a new under tray available for a good price locally right now and it's why I'm wondering if it may be worth buying it...

awesome, now the waiting time begins.

Since theres not really anywhere else to ask this question heres the story. I have an 05 2.5i and brought UEL headers from DNA Motoring that were made for a 96-05 WRX. I was told that WRX headers were compatible with 2.5RS's. And that 2.5RS's are compatible with 2.5i headers. I brought the headers to at least 6 muffler shops and they told me theres no way theyre going on even with modifications and they told me to buy things that were made for my car.

Theyd fit right on the engine but it wouldnt connect with the rest of the exhaust and the trannys in the way. I was also told that if I brought headers for 05 and 05 models only that the headers bolt right on with no problems.

My question is do I need to get UEL headers this style?:

I really would like to get headers that bolt right on like Rallisports but I dont have the patience to wait that long. Are there any alternatives such as buying uel's this style?

Pretty sure it's worth the wait for the Rallisports.

You could hack up an oem gt manifold like previously mentioned. Maybe borla but I'm not sure

I cant find an oem lgt manifold anywhere. That was my third choice but there has to be someone here whos done something differently? And how long is the wait for Rallisports?

07+ wrx (or 08?) manifolds are the same as the LGT and require the same modifications. I can't remember what years but it's in GEE-OTTO's thread about the manifold conversion. Should be plentiful on the NASIOC forums!

If yours look like pic directly above, then the header you posted in the cardbox box above should fit as a bolt on, no mods needed.

 

Is that your header that you purchased pictured in the cardbox box above? It's not a WRX header, it's for a 2.5RS, naturally aspirated.

The headers in the box do not fit at all trust me it wont even come close. and DNA motoring said it was for a 96-05 WRX

Because the headers I posted above hanging on the wall are mine, off my 2005 2.5i.

I should take a new vid soon now that I have two resonators in the midpipe - removed the original cxlighting bottle style and now have a Vibrant and Magnaflow. Significantly less drone now...

Those are the stock headers in your car? Mine look a lot longer than your first link. The stock headers the 2nd link looks more like mine cept with a different cat. Since these are what my headers look like will anything bolt right on uel?

As I said before though the headers that I have in the box do not fit and arent going to. The headers that you have on your 2.5i right now look about the same style as the one I have in the box. Is it uncommon to have stock el headers the style I have them? It seems like I have less choices than you do since youre lucky yours could bolt right on as I thought all 05 models could
