AFig36
Done today: 50% on the sides, 40% in the back, with Llumar ATR I know, I know...I've heard all the opinions about these percentages being a "waste of money" or "not even noticeable," so no need for repeating :-). PA law paid some role in my decision, but ultimately a very small one. I just didn't want to go any darker. For those considering tinting their windows, I'll share with you each of the factors I considered in making my decision: - your state and local laws - enforcement of said laws - interior color (tan or black) - contrast (tint % vs. color of the car) - whether you want a "sophisticated" or "pimped out" look - importance of aesthetics relative to other factors - UV protection - heat rejection - brand/manufacturer reputation - film series of the brand - reputation of the installer - pictures of the installer's work - whether the shop is full-service detail and "just happens to do some tinting" or whether tinting is where 100% of their business comes from - type of cars they've worked on (I'll give you extra points if you've worked on some exotics. It's an indication of a discerning clientele with the means to take/ship their cars anywhere--but they took them to that particular shop.) In my research, I found that basically every film/manufacturer offered a full lifetime warranty (a small number had a limited warranty). I think it's more important to find a shop that makes it a point to stand behind their work. Every place will screw up at some point--look for reviews about how they made it right for the customer. Kudos to the guys at Shades of Gray Tint (http://shadesofgraytint.com/) outside of Philly for their great work.
Magic Marker
I think it looks nice. In hindsight, I kinda wish I did 50% all the way around. We did 50% on my fiancee's Volvo and I like the look. I had 35% done and sometimes I think it's a bit too dark.... but I'm not going to strip it and get it redone so I leave the sunroof sunshade open all the time to let in more light so the tint doesn't appear as dark. Here are my pics so people can compare. http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll177/jmark42/IMG_1053.jpg http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll177/jmark42/IMG_1043.jpg 2011 Volvo S60T6 & 2013 Volvo XC60T6 Polestar

AFig36
It was a cloudy day at about 10am, probably contributing to the darker-than-normal appearance. Magic Marker: thanks!
