ChicagoSam
I think I saw a thread about this recently, but haven't been able to find it. I have an '08 5eat that likes to pretend that it's almost out of gas when it rains hard or snows. It's the only way I can think of how to explain what the problem feels like while driving: On the highway in rain/snow, partial throttle, and the engine just cuts out for half a second-then continues on as normal. No gradual loss of power-like the injectors stop working for a quick sec or something. No repetition- just one quick cut of power then on as usual. (It was snowing pretty hard yesterday and it happened 3-4 times) The clue of the rain/snow makes me think somthing's up with the MAF? If anyone could point me in the direction of an existing thread ( could it be the injectors/coil-pack?) or has had this problemo too( and you know what it is) the help would be appreciated- thanks
1055
Only partial throttle? Sounds maf related. Under load too? Could be a failing o2 sensor.

Max Capacity
My 05 would do that once if it was snowing hard. But it only seemed the happen when I was leaving the ski house in VT and driving home. It would happen about a mile outside of town. It would do this back 3 or 4 years ago. I cleaned the MAF and IAT for the first time a few months back, I also have new O2 sensors on that car. The things runs great when cold. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. FPerron
Whenever my car is driven in rainy weather, it acts like I'm overboosting or hitting the rev limiter under load. I have an AEM intake in the right front fender, and I figure the problem is either the filter getting wet, or maybe my ignition wires need replacing (90K miles on the car). Oh, and if I continue to push it, I get a misfire code.
