eastmentCTD600
The Average MPG dispaly on my '07 LGT is always dead-on accurate compared to hand calcuated MPG, every tank since I've owend the car . No complaint, just wondering if this is par for the course for Subaru. I've owned several other vehicles and they were always 1 - 2 MPG off. This car is accurate to the tenth, unreal! Is this common? SCHM1AN
No, mine can be up to 1.5 MPG off depending on the driving style. That's why I bought a ScanGaugeII for a more accurate display, and why I have my gas mileage on an excel file
Kodax
Man..you guys care too much about MPG. I just drive how I want it. Currently doing 22 MPG average. Not bad for a heavy foot and my full tank of gas runs out in like 5 days.
RabidWombat
Mine reads about ~0.5 mpg high.
planelazy
I don't care what MPG I get. If I was worried about it, I would have bought a Prius.
bmx045
I actually aim for the lowest mpg, why? because it usually equates to mucho FUN.
Strizzy
Mine's pegged at 40... But I'm lucky to get 18 hwy. My bad luck build
05_2.5
to the OP. what method do you use to confirm that yours is dead on if your hand calculating is off?
Chris GTO TT
Mine is optimistic by about 1mpg compared to calculations based off of fuel pumped and miles traveled Sent from my HTC EVO 4G using Tapatalk 2003 Baja 5MT 2016 Outback 2.5i Premium w/Eyesight
MatsuDano
Mine's usually pretty accurate, within less than 1mpg difference either way. Only thing is the fuel gauge thinks it has a 14 gallon tank.
eastmentCTD600
to the OP. what method do you use to confirm that yours is dead on if your hand calculating is off? The number to compare to is the hand calculation (base). Dividing miles driven by fuel consumed at each fill-up is the most accurate way to determine fuel economy. I was just surprised that the roo is so accurate (or in agreement to the 0.1 MPG) with my hand calculations. I use the same pump, always let it click off and don't top it up beyond that. ...Just glad to see Subaru has an accurate MPG meter, this is something that eludes every other car manufaturer on planet earth (in my expereince). 2.5GT_dude
isn't that why its called "average" because it's an average and may vary?

RdKetchup
Mine is dead-on also (within .1l/100km, the gauge increment by .2).

gimpydingo
Mine seems fairly accurate, just doing quick calc in my head. But my display doesn't do .1 increments, I always see it at 19.5, 19.8, 20.4. Never seen 19.4, 19.6, 20.3, etc...
__raj
No idea if accurate. However it showing average of 24MPG over the last 5000 miles with my wife driving 80 highway/20 city on ours with 120k. It typically drops 1-1.5MPG in the winter as she warms it up for 5-15minutes.
