Windy Road
I'm running in the summer Dunlop Star Specs in a 235/40-17 and have no rubbing at all. This is on stock height on a 09 so it shouldn't be that big of a difference. Oh my wheels are a 17x8 +48(I believe) I'd check the wheel/tire thread at the top of the forum for more info and other answers. 276hp/347tq On a DynoJet Dyno Video - Had a big lean spot as you can tell in the second pull
SubyShop.com
I run 245/40/17 on a 17x8.5" wheel. I had to roll my fenders but there's still some room to spare. A lot depends on the wheel offset. -Franz
quick4dr
how hard is it to roll the fenders? I remeber seeing DIY tools for this when i looked to do my old car, but then never had to because i had no rubbing issues.
quick4dr
id ideally like to run 245/45/17 or at max 255/45/17 nitto 555, what kinda offset will allow that if i roll the fenders?
Mickeytl
Everyone is wondering, why do you want to run such wide tires? Obviously, you will need to roll fenders with that set up and etc. to get it running correctly.
N.sane
Those tire sizes are too big, you'll need a 245/40 or 255/40.
quick4dr
245/40/17 is hard to find a good tire in. I loved my 245/45/17 nitto 555's i had on my last car. Sticky, great tread wear, and very reliable whether wet or dry.i would run a 235/45/17 would their be any issues on a 17x8 wheel, 44 to 48 offset? N.sane
Dunlop Star Spec and Kumho XS both come in 235/45/17 and 245/40/17 so I wouldnt say it's hard to find a good summer tire. TireRack.com is a good resource for tire sizes. I ran a quick search and 235/45/17 seems to be ok even with 17x8, +45.
