Destroyed Clutch (only 8k miles on it)

I replaced my clutch about 8k miles ago. I ordered a Saches clutch from the parts house....and it was special order. When it arrived, it was a Dynopak clutch kit....

I was pissed, but I couldn't go any longer without my car.

I installed the clutch...no biggie...I've done it dozens of times on second gens.

A few months of driving and everything is great with the clutch. I ride trails pretty frequently, so I am a little hard on the clutch sometimes.

I was out yesterday and came across a very tough climb through some rocks...It took a few times but I made it up. At the top, there was a sharp right turn and a step up that was about 1ft or 1.5ft straight up. I tried to climb it...couldn't do it...tried a few times and BAM....clutch is gone.

I made it about 20 miles into the mountains. I had to have the blue jeep in the pics below drag me all 20 miles back out of the mountains with a chain....try being pulled 20 miles through big boulders and countless obsticals....not fun....anyways, once we got out of the mountains, I called a tow truck and had my car towed to my shop last night. This morning when I got into work, I pulled the transmission.

These pictures are what I found when I pulled the transmission (and a few pics of the off road fun that killed my clutch). The friction material one one side of the clutch was completely gone. No scarring of the flywheel or pressure plate from the metal rivits or anything. It was almost like the friction material just fell off and got shredded.

Was this a faulty clutch, or was I really THAT hard on it to cause this to happen. It never once slipped, never once gave any indication of upcoming failure. It was literally a sudden failure.... I've never seen a clutch do this so suddenly....thats what has me kind of confused on this one

Yeah kind of strange. There wasn't even any scars on the pressure plate or flywheel from the metal rivits like what normally happens when you run a clutch really low
