05 Outback XT limited manual

 

btw, clutch and flywheel just went, can't machine the flywheel.

Putting in a stage 2 clutch and new flywheel. Any advice on brand/makes?

Stock flywheel is dual-mass and typically cannot be machined. It requires replacement which = $$. Swap to a single-mass WRX-spec flywheel (not lightweight IMO), and Spec Stage 2 (or 2+) clutch.

Thanks, that's a big help. Im going with the Spec stage 2+ so that it can handle the mods I plan to make in the future. Having trouble finding the the single-mass flywheel. I'm new to this and this repair is an unexpected situation forcing my learning curve. Wd greatly appreciate insight into a specific flywheel or site to order it from. Thanks again.

I got mine from eBay for $90. It was a stock one that had been resurfaced. I would check there first.

Well the board already knows i got the 2010 Legacy 3.6R. But now i also have a 2005 Outback XT 5speed! Woot woot!

The XT Needs some work. Timing belt, sparks, shocks, emergency brakes, ALL brakes really. But i already got stuff ordered. Its a blast to drive. Almost as fun as my old WRX!

 

2009 Outback XT Limited 5MT

 

Bone stock with a brand new motor, courtesy of Subaru. I badly want to mod her a bit, but am a bit clueless of where to start (was wife's ride, now mine if I decide to keep her). In the interim, I'll likely start a thread requesting the combined wisdom of this forum regarding upgrades. However, feel free to PM me if you think you've got time to talk mods.

Just put the new struts/spring on to lower it, still need to work on leveling it out.

I just bought an 08 OB XT 5spd.

Having a bit of a rough go on day 2:

Won't start.

 

But so far, it's like my 02 Legacy Wagon, just with 80 more hp, and that's good because I like my wagon.
