Apartment dewellers and car washing

Recommended Posts

Sometimes you can find a car wash with a bay that is out of service. Fill a bucket with soapy water and you can do a normal bucket wash. Just watch out for the scrub brush things if you do use the full deal. Those are death to you paint. Even if you spray it off it won't do the trick because they still hold the grease and grit from a million dirty dump trucks before. Avoid those brushes on the fragile Legacy paint.

I use Quick & Easy Wash. I was a bit skeptical at first, but it does a great job, you'll get a spot-free wash when you're done, and it doesn't swirl the paint. I use two mits and two buckets. If you were to use just one mit and one bucket, you'd have to be a bit more careful with how dirty your mit is.

See this thread for me details on how to do it:

The first time I used this stuff I "tested" it on my wife's escort which hadn't been washed in a couple months and it did a great job! Give it a shot, you'll save money over the many many quarters you're pumping into the do-it-yourself places.

fragile is right OC...i got scraches on the LGT with a few kleenex's...trying to rub off birdie doo doo :( i was so mad with the crappy paint

To get bird crap off (and do it as soon as possible!), spray on some quick detailer, allow it to soften it up for a couple seconds, and wipe off with a microfiber towel.
