cheeseenlo
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys. I did my CM FX350 swap a few weeks ago. I pulled the transmission and pulled both half shafts. Upon removal of the right side, I saw a wire sprung retainer come out. It was not present on the left side. It was pretty pinched up by the time I removed it so I didn't re-use it. Now a few weeks after the install, I'm noticing a slight leak from the right side. Can someone help me figure out where this wire retainer goes and what it's purpose is?
O_vang
It should be on the inner side of the axle seal. Just get a new seal installed.
Max Capacity
When you buy the new axle seals, you'll see the spring in the inside of the lip. They are cheap. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. cheeseenlo
Thank guys! Does this mean I'll need to drain out all the gear oil again..How messy do you think it will be if I just pop out the axle and replace the seal without draining first?
