bradlgt21
I accidently got pen on one of the leather seats. I tried taking it off yesterday with leather cleaner and no such luck. Any tips on how to remove this?
OCDetails
Thats a tough one. There are a lot of things you could use, but there are also a lot of things that will ruin the leather. Depending on the leather and the amount of ink, you could use an all purpose degreaser. Spray it on a sponge and dab it on the affected area for a minute and then wipe it off. Or you could use the old trick of hair spray. Hair spray gets it out of clothing and can be very effective on leather, but it is sort of hit and miss and depends on how set in the ink is. The problem with ink on leather is that it can actually dye the leather and the stain never comes out. Getting it off in a hurry is very important. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S . bradlgt21
Thanks OCD I will try the hairspray first since that sounds less damaging then degreaser. I don't know if either are going to do it though. Its been on for a while.
LongHiway
Drug store rubbing alcohol is the tried and true method. No promises on what the leather will look like. Probably leave a bluish ring.
OCDetails
That is why the hairspray is an effective product. The cheaper the hairspray/the better it works. That cheap AquaNet stuff is the best. Loads of alcohol in that. You can use it to start fires with when you are done. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S . pillboy
AquaNet is an old timers trick for ink removal. I myself have never tried it on leather. Good luck. It is still ugly.
LongHiway
Agreed. & Not trying to debate. Not many guys have hair spray laying around... Either way, you have to be diligent blotting up the residue.
