JonLGT
Hey guys, it's been a while. On my 05 GT I have a invidia downpipe connected to a Greddy SP2 and one day started my car to find my exhaust sounded a whole lot louder than it did when I shut it off. I already knew I had some leaks in my cat back section due to old gaskets so I replaced them all expecting this to fix the issue. This made no difference at all. Now I have not removed the downpipe to check the gasket to the turbo but the leak sounds like it's coming from under the car. I recently inspected my piping for any holes or cracks bit it all looks good. I'm at a bit of a loss here. Anybody heard of this issue? The car runs exactly the same, holds boost properly and runs fine... just too loud. Oh and keep an eye on your shift linkage bushings. I had to replace mine at 96,000. AMileHighLGT
have someone momentarily block the outlets and listen for the air leak.
Rhitter
I am not sure if this will work...but...if you have a camera that has a heat view mode could you point that at your exhaust to try and pinpoint the leaks? Obviously it would be better the colder it is outside. My OBXT build
compsurge
It could be the muffler disintegrating too. I've had that happen before.

JonLGT
Is it possible the timing belt has skipped a tooth? I'm going to replace it anyway but could this be the issue? There are no other strange noises coming from the engine.
compsurge
Highly unlikely the timing belt is the cause... Greddy isn't known for its quality. I'd look for holes in the pipes. Check near the hanger for a rusted through hole.
