How long did your first pair of tires last.

I was just wondering if I would have to replace tires during my lease, how many miles did you guys get on the tires that came with the car?

Yes huge flames.

 

One tire was faulty (bubbling around the wheel) and the tires in general were pretty crappy. So I already had mind to change them, but the faulty one gave me a reason to speed up the process

I usually drive on two pairs of tires in my car.

My Potenza RE92 lasted around 50K, how long is your lease?

PS OE RE92s are low rolling resistance, long wearing, quiet and nothing performance related good at tires.

I'm just over 36,000 on my RE92's and I'm getting afraid of them. In heavy rain they move around a lot and I'm not going into winter with tires that are getting close to 4/32 left.

But then, I'm traditional, too, in a different way: I have two pairs on my car and a half pair in it. HPH

You can make your tyres last long by only driving on one pair at a time

I've got 33k on my stock re92s and they look less than 1/2 worn. I expect to get 50-60k before I feel they are dangerous.

 

That being said, they suck in even moderately hard cornering on damp roads. And they don't breakaway progressively in the wet. Of course, I'm running cobb sways...so that helps snap the rear-end too

6000 miles before one got a huge gash and I replaced them all. Good Riddance!

Judging by your wheels, you have the 2.5i, correct? If so, you have Yokohama Advans A82A's, and not the RE92's the others are talking about (those come stock on the GT's). I got around 20,000 miles before a nail punctured my front driver's and replaced them all with Continental DWS.

 

They weren't bad tires, and got me through two winters prior.

I drove my stock tires for 65,000 miles

60,000 miles on stock re92s.

for the re92 drivers, how was winter driving?

mine have 40k miles on them, and i dont drive much.

I've gone thru two sets of tires in 40k miles. I don't get how some of you are running the stockers for +60k miles.

I got 40k miles out of my stock RE92s before I replaced them as a precautionary measure. They probably could have gone an additional 10k miles, but winter was approaching and I didn't trust them for snowboarding season.

You're living beyond your means if the cost of replacing an essential wear item like tires worries you.

do you replace them after the little nubs come off or do you drive exclusivley sideways? I'll admit that 75k was pushing it but 2 sets in 40 k is a bit extreme

65,000 miles on the stock RE92s.

40K and 1 track day and the tires are done. The track day was the nail in the coffin.

Just ditched my stock RE050As after 30k. I was down to the casing and Seattle wind/rain storms were no fun.

Heh, I had the RE050s so this isn't a fair comparison. I got about 12K out of them.
