Official 5th Generation Suspension Thread

Recommended Posts

Hey Brandon! I know you're happy with the '13/'14 Springs & Bilsteins combo, but do you actually think the Bilsteins will work well with '11 Springs?

Should I re-use my '11 Springs or invest in 14" Springs?

Or even go for Eibach's? (although I read about a camber issue somewhere)

I'm currently on RCE's/Bilsteins and totally understand what you mean when you say punched in the head on bad roads. Wished I found this thread sooner!

Get the '14 springs. Do it. They're cheap.

My '10 springs were like driving a boat.

Has anyone had any experience with the D2 Racing RS36 Coilovers? Don't recalled seeing them mentioned in this thread, and they run roughly the same amount for a set of Koni Yellows with RCE Blacks. If they're any good, they could be well worth it.

RCE Tarmac Zero in that price range.

Fortunes are not forgiving on abrupt bumps.

Really? Where can you find them for that amount? Everywhere I see them they're listed around $1799.

I got mine on a special sale $1350 over 2 years ago when they first came out.

I've had RCE's and Bilstein's for 2 months now and the ride is very, very rough here in Toronto - pothole mayhem!

I put about 45,000 miles on a Blackstein combo over the lunar landscapes of Vermont and the combo never did "wear in". I've said it before, but Blacksteins should be reserved for those who only see pavement as smooth as a baby's arse (i.e., where they were designed/tested).

Anyone here by any chance is running themselves or knows someone who's running a Bc coilover BC V1 (F-14-VH) or a Br Rh (F-14-RH) on their car atm, considering possibly purchasing on of these two listed above in the near future. Just wanted to know how they hold up, hows the firmness, adjust ability, any issues ect with them.

Hey guys, Leigh from NZ here again...

I got a set of H&R springs and Koni 8610/8010 ready to install.

Sorry if this has been covered before (couldn't find in search) but to minimize down time on my daily, I'm looking for a cheap donor set of OEM front struts to do the insert conversion on, does anyone know if 4th Gen BL are the same as BM?

BL/BP struts will not work. You need BM/BR front struts, sedan or wagon only, not Outback, those have the spring perch higher on the strut body.
