This is why I am looking for wheels in the 8"-8.5" wide range. I want to be able to put my stock tires on the new wheels without stretching the tires.

I'm looking at two sets of wheels, one is 18x8 +45, the other 18x8 +35. I like the +45 wheel better but I don't think I'll be happy with the look of the offset. One reason I'm getting rid of the Sport wheels is because I don't really want to run spacers if I don't have to and the +55 offset of the OEM 18's kills me without them.

How far in will an 18x8 +45 wheel sit in the wheel wells. Is anyone currently running these specs? Pics?

Joe has taken the full brunt of my indecision, so thanks man, I really appreciate the help! :)

yea no bueno...well i called and since theyre on backorder, i just switched my order to 18x8 and will deal with spacers if need be

When I looked into this, Bridgestone's spec for the OEM LGT tires (225/45 18) was as GTEASER mentioned: 7-8.5". I don't know if there's any drawbacks with putting those tires on a rim that's a half inch wider than the recommended width as I ended up getting 8.5" wheels and didn't bother researching it.

Having said that, I doubt your plan is to keep the tires forever, or even stick with that tire size forever. If you suspect you'll be replacing your tires in a year or so and can tolerate the stretch and you'd prefer the 9" rim and everything that entails for the time being, just stick with it. Better to spend the money on the rims, which are expensive, once than to be unhappy with them and want to replace them.

An 18x8+45 will sit exactly 16mm farther out than the stock wheels, so just like running 16mm spacers on your current wheels.

My 18x9+40 sit 34mm farther out than the stock wheels.

I can do all this shit in my head now!!! :spin: Believe me, I have spend hours on www.willtheyfit.com.

fwiw 1"=25.4mm, 0.5"=12.7mm and 0.25"=6.3mm

+40 sticks our farther than +35?

Nevermind, saw you changed it up to 9" instead of 8

If you ever get a new suspension setup let me know and I can help you install it! Or anything else! I keep seeing your car around and I like what you did with the gt rims :)

Thanks! Yeah it wasn't quite the look I was going for but it's kinda color matched and works out. I may have to take you up on that offer as I'm looking to upgrade suspension later this summer!
