Which lines to block off when doing boost leak test?

Recommended Posts

I'm doing a boost leak test. I didn't realize in this car you need to block off all vacuum lines it seems. Or some if them at least. Not familiar with Subaru engines yet as this is my first. Which lines need to be blocked off? Any pictures showing them by chance?

Thanks.

Stick a pint size paint can in the hose coming off the air filter box. That should be all you need to do.

Then give a short blast of air into the small hose off the BOV.

I still have to block off lines I believe it the crankcase fills with pressure. If I remove oil cap it all bleeds out of course but then the oil cap slightly leaking would mimic a boost leak.

I can easily build 15 psi but then it bleeds off quick down to under 10 psi and then slowly down to zero.
