I Donated broknindarkagain Posted March 11, 2012 I Donated Share Posted March 11, 2012 If the timing belt jumped off, internal engine damage probably happened (99% chance it did). The EJ25D that comes in the 98 Outback is an interference engine...and when the timing belt breaks, slips off, jumps time, etc......the valves in the head get destroyed and the engine will no longer have any compression. The fix for this is a new timing belt kit and rebuild heads......its sometimes cheaper to just replace the engine if you can find one cheap enough. You can buy them in phoenix for less than $300 -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
