This is a summary from a Swedish insurance company and covers models sold in Sweden.

 

The graph below displays brand and machine damages per 100 vehicles.

 

There's a lot covered in machine damage, not just engine. The figures are for 2010.

Wow, that's really encouraging. Go Subaru. My purchase choices last month were between Subaru, Mitsubishi, and Toyota. Looks like all were excellent choices. Go me. =)

 

Epic fail on Rovers though, ouch.

There's a reason why Rover went bankrupt.

The cars have to come to a stop somehow. I guess people in this statistic aren't launching their cars.

Now we have proof that Kia makes the second best cars in the world!

Find a couple things of note. Some european Cadillac's are made at the Saab plant. This is for the limited number of cars in Sweden that had their damages reported to insurance companies. I could go through and pick out more, but these anecdotal results don't mean much.
