-36ºC Drive ends in a cloud of oil smoke

Recommended Posts

Any idea's? I was driving into town after 20 minutes on the highway stopped at a set of lights to turn left and I was overtaken by a cloud of oil smoke coming out of my exhaust. Pulled over turned off the car and started it again (oil pressure was still around 20psi) got out and checked that it was indeed coming from the exhaust, it was so turned off the car and got a ride.

PCV frozen open? Blown turbo?

Check your oil level before you do anything. Make sure the oil is clean, no metal. Then look around for leaks, after your sure nothing is obvious, start the engine.
