Osei
One to 2 hard shifts are pretty common in older units. Perhaps someone will chime in for possible "fix". I just live with it. O.

98legacycarl
going straight, motor on or off. In neutral or in drive
johnegg
motor on or off. In neutral or in drive so it is not the engine, or technically the trans. it could be the front differential, which is the front part of the ''trans-axle''. or maybe an axle. jack up the front wheels one at a time and turn it by hand. hand brake on, other wheel blocked, trans in N, engine off. spooln30
If it were the diff I think it would probably do it right away and be even worse while turning. Could be a axle or driveshaft. Can you describe the issue better or maybe a vid, which would be better for us to better diagnos.
