Tundraman
Currently just an idea..... I have a 2009 3.0R limited that requires some maintenance - new lower control arm bushings (which I can do, but don't want to..$450 at dealer..ugh) and more importantly, mayneed valve adjustment- My understanding is that pulling the engine is the way to do this, big $$$$. Can't do that in my driveway, and having someone else do it isn't going to happen. I'm concerned that it the new Legacy would feel doggy/boat like compared to my 3.0R - larger, cvt, smallish brakes, no bilsteins.... (I'll test drive one depending on what's said here). I'm looking for some input from forum members as to why or why not a new legacy might be a good choice. Thanks in advance!
Dispatch20
Why do you think it may need a valve adjustment? What symptoms? The 2005-2009 3.0R motor doesn't typically require any valve maintenance. How many miles are you at?
GEE-OTTO
Do you have a sound clip of the noise you are hearing? That would go a long way to pinpoint the issue. Like Dispatch20 mentioned EZ30s dont require valve adjustments typically. Maybe you are running too thin oil or some other RPM related tick is the cause. You are right the 3.0R limited is a fine vehicle
