plumb Posted June 15, 2013 Share Posted June 15, 2013 i just did headgaskets on my car and next week im gone be ready to start it. my question is, is the any pre oiling i have to do. i know on old cars you could take off the distributor and hand turn over the engine to get oil through the engine. is tere anything like that i have to do to this car. first time takeing one of the these engines out. Max Capacity Posted July 31, 2013 Share Posted July 31, 2013 When I put a new short block in my wagon last May, after leaving the key on and making sure I had the fuel pump primed, I just turned the key to start, the engine fired up just like it does everyday. You'll want to make sure you get all the air out of the cooling system. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).
