Zues Marine
gah! NASA wants you to get a new head unit.. a nice red one.. nice climate controls, all my lights are burned out
subikid90
I want a new red one haha. I cant find any good ones that have red display though. Pioneer makes one I like but it doesn't have iPod or HD radio so I wouldn't be gaining anything besides red lights. Unless you know of a good one I am not aware of haha -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
Zues Marine
well my sony xpolde one has hd satellite radio, and an aux port and both red or green lights (can switch between them) it's 2years old i think, so i'd check out the new sony stuff

subikid90
Well I put a little work into the subi this weekend, still have more to go. Also rolled over to 169k. Cleared corners: http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff139/ptownhawky15/Subi/CIMG2492.jpg I still need to find some superstar chrome 1157A bulbs because those amber bulbs look horrible. A few other projects I'm working on: -Changing the color of the LED on thew driver side window switch. Ill post a DIY. -Painting all the wood grain black -Painting the grill black -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
whos_that_guy
i should go pull my turn singles out and do it since its raining so plans got ruined but it looks good
subikid90
Its not to hard. At 170 degrees I had them in there for about 15 minutes, but another 5 minutes would probably make it a lot easier. Just make sure when putting them back together to no get that glue everywhere. I didn't think about it and not the glue is on the chrome inside part and it looks horrible. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
whos_that_guy
getting the glue off is easy, just gotta reheat it again, get a wet paper towel and rub it off, happened to me when i was cleaning out my headlights. heating it at 250 works alil better, gives u enff time to break them open, pull the lens out and put it back together
subikid90
Maybe ill try it again then. I got the LED changed out also, very easy to do. There are 4 tabs to take the black cover off the back then 6 more tabs to pull the white board out. http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff139/ptownhawky15/Subi/CIMG2512.jpg The LED is right above the clear switch (driverside switch) http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff139/ptownhawky15/Subi/CIMG2514.jpg http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff139/ptownhawky15/Subi/CIMG2513.jpg http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff139/ptownhawky15/Subi/CIMG0002.jpg http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff139/ptownhawky15/Subi/CIMG2499.jpg Just solder the old LED out and put a solder a new one in. Very easy to do. I bought the LEDs from radioshack part #276-1622. It is an assortment of 20 LEDs. It was the only small LEDs they had. Cost $1.99. Ill take some pictures tonight when it gets dark out. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap

Also fixed the broken corner marker with a little JB Weld http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff139/ptownhawky15/Subi/CIMG2518.jpg While the paint was drying I worked on the side skirts. I have already done this to the front bumper, mirrors, door handles and side moldings. Still have the rear bumper and spoiler to finish. I am using turtle wax polishing compound and it takes most of the yellow out and cleans them up nice. Only problem is it shows all of the deep scratches better You cant see it very well but the left side is done and the right isnt done yet. http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff139/ptownhawky15/Subi/CIMG2527.jpg Now I am working on changing the LED color in my aftermarket Jensen radio. Should have that done buy the end of the week then it is on to the HVAC LED's (the small ones that tell you which setting you are on) BTW sorry for the crappy pictures my good camera is having issues right now, so I have to use the old 3MP POS camera. Okay I'm done now -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap

subikid90
I didn't like the chrome because nothing else on my whole car is chrome and it looked tacky in my opinion.
