Heytiggr Posted January 13, 2011 Share Posted January 13, 2011 Hi All, The time is coming for me to smog test my 05 LGT MT to renew the registration. This will be my first test since installing the AP and loading the Off The Shelf Stage 1. My question: Do I need to set it back to "Stock" mode before the test or can I leave the Stage 1 flash in place and not worry about it passing? My only mod is the K&N Typhoon (please no discussion about that - there are 4 billion other threads about that subject). Since it is so easy to do, I am thinking I will set it to Stock for the test but I am curious about whether the Stage 1 will have an effect on passing the test. Thanks! wpmarky Posted January 13, 2011 Share Posted January 13, 2011 Stage 2 catted LGT's have been known to pass. A local stage 3 LGT wagon passed with a DP & BNR turbo. Stage 1 will probably pass. To satisfy your curiousity, get the smog test with the stage 1 mpa loaded at a place with free retest. If it passes, then you get your answer If it doesn't pass, flash back to stock. Drive around the block, and re-test. If it still doesn't pass, something is mechanically wrong. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
