Legacy Touring Wagon

Subaru has officially revealed the new 2010 Legacy Touring Wagon. Like the Legacy sedan and Outback wagon which were already unveiled at the New York Auto Show last month, the new Legacy Touring Wagon features updated styling, more interior room, and Subaru's trademark all-wheel drive system.

Power comes from a variety of engines including two 2.5-liter units. The first is a naturally aspirated flat four-cylinder with 170hp (125kW) and 170 lb-ft (230Nm) of torque, the second is a turbocharged version which cranks out 265hp (195kW) and 258 lb-ft (350Nm) of torque. Sitting at the top of range is a flat 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine which produces 256hp (188kW) and 247 lb-ft (335Nm) of torque.

Given its rather mundane mission as a family hauler, the new wagon comes equipped with a variety of useful design features including larger rear door opening for improved access and slimmer pillars for better visibility. Key options include radar based cruise control, GPS navigation, keyless entry with push button starting, and automatic windshield wipers.

Apperantly, they've also decided that in addition to a turbo wagon, SI-Drive won't come to US Legacies/outbacks; but will stay on overseas.

it's an ugly piece of sh!t. I'd rather drive a VW passat vs. this crap.
258k miles - Stock engine/minor suspension upgrades/original shocks/rear struts replaced at 222k/4 passenger side wheel bearings/3 clutches/1 radiator/3 turbos

According to Left Lane News, we'll get these in Canada too.

I am sorta skeptical. Unlike before the Legacy wagon requires different sheetmetal than Outback, so making Legacy wagon at SIA will be more expensive.

Kind of off topic but why are all car manufacturers going to a "smily face" look on the front. Honestly the new Mazda 3 has a massive smile, this one also. I don't feel the 2010 styling is "sporty" enough compared to the previous years.

Stop making these "happy" cars!

Japanese designers have always considered the front a face, and have to make one that isn't only "happy", but nonoffending. That design ethic is partially driven in the kawaii -factor. It needs to appeal as something cute and happy to the Japanese public. That design ethic also is the reason behind why faces of Japanese designed cars sometimes are incongruous with the rest of the sheetmetal.

no matter how ugly, its still a subaru and has the basic qualities of what we subaru owners want in a car at a decent price. if it was avaliable, no doubt you guys would buy it. and i doubt canada will get a wagon for 2010?...if they do i'll be pissed as hell. still don't understand why they can't be special ordered especially before, for 08-09. if it was, my current legacy definately would have been a wagon.

The new Acura TL is one of the all time worst smiley faced cars, front and back...uuugh!!

The Legacy Wagon looks much better than the plastic armored Outback  I saw the Jetta wagon today, a TDI, and I really like it.

A Jetta TDI wagon is at teh top of my list if I get a new car nest year. It will either be that or a used Legacy wagon.

Just saw that ROW will get radar based cruise control... yet another option and cool feature that we don't get.

Thanks SOA for giving us the short bus Legacy edition for 2010 :)

Maybe they will take the wagons from Japan then? The cars we get here in Europe comes from Japan... :spin:

Feel sorry for you guys in the US...

But the industry isn´t just f***ing you for laughs. It´s the normal process being a tiny minority in a country with bad taste, fat asses and love for plasic interior, as long as it´s got a V8 or fit a soccerteam and a ton of K-mart groceries.

Of course this is more of a compliment to u guys than a description of your fellow compatriot:)
