I'm interested! I have water spots that need to be polished out. I thought I'd be able to just claybar them out, but that did nothing but make the surface smooth :(

We can also take care of door dings and such. For a better idea on pricing I can put you in contact with Michael. He'll be able to help on that part.

Phone #: 303-279-7333

Ask to speak to Michael and mention the Legacygt.com discount. Explain what you're looking to have done and he should be able to help.

Any updates on the transmission rebuilds? My 5MT is looking to be in need of a partial if not complete rebuild. I'll have it out of the car tomorrow and will be out of town for a week starting Monday so I'd like to drop it off somewhere before I leave.

I'm up for anywhere from Fort Collins to Denver since I'll be making that drive Sunday prior to leaving the state.

My mother has done business with a place in Aurora called Advanced Transmission for years so if all else fails, I can give them a shot.

I haven't gotten my car in yet, but plan to take it to SubaPerformance downtown. Their prices were on par with other places ($1400 - $2000), and they do awesome work (they did my engine rebuild).

There are two places in the Denver/Aurora area I can think of that are Subaru specific and that won't rip you off (personal businesses aside...) Suba is fantastic. They know what they're doing but they're always pressed for time. If you can leave your transmission there, I have no doubt you come back to something awesome.

Otherwise, off of Hampden and Tower, in Aurora, there is a place called "Speedy Roo" and they do great work for a very competitive price. Their staff is knowledgeable and do seem to genuinely care about the Scoober. Even the older dudes there are into scoober rallies and such. Fun people for sure. Please, let us know where you take it and the results (price/enthusiasm/knowledge/etc... of said place...)

I love Suba! If they weren't always so busy, I'd be there all the time!

Anybody got any good body shops?

Sent from my mind using my fingers

I've used Cooper Auto Body in Fort Collins many times and they've always been fair and willing to work with special conditions (put the JDM front on my old Integra and did a full frame swap on my LandCruiser). They also re-did the front end on my Legacy after I got stuck behind a gravel truck. Came out as good as new!

Well, I dropped my car off with Chad and Bob at Accurate Transmission in Aurora (just east of Havana and Mississippi) to have them work on the trans problem I've been having. My mom has been using them for about 15 years and they worked on one of my old cars a couple times.

So far, they have been very helpful and kind and willing to work with me. Hopefully that continues once they get a chance to dig into it. They do offer free diagnosis so that's a bonus.

I also contacted SubaPerformance. They quoted me $740 for labor to tear down, inspect and rebuild. Parts extra. That would have been if I had just taken them trans already out of the car. Not that that didn't sound good but having done business with Accurate before and them knowing my mother so well I decided to give that a shot.

I'll update as this goes along.

I've had my car back for about a week now and I would definitely like to recommend Accurate Transmission in Aurora for anyone needing some transmission work. They treated me very well and were very willing to do what I wanted at each step of the process. They also were very up-front and honest with everything and did not try to sell me anything I didn't really need.

I ended up just having them pull the transmission for me and do the rebuild since I ran out of time to pull it myself. They were fine with me just bringing them the trans too if I had gone that route. Cost for them to pull the trans, tear it down, replace the bad parts, replace the clutch and flywheel and put everything back together was right at $1200 for labor. The parts were additional on top of that and would obviously vary depending on what needed done. They used OEM parts in the trans and I provided them with a CM FX300 and SMFW. Had I decided to do the OEM clutch, they were fine doing either the DWFW or converting it to the SMFW/WRX clutch and would have covered either under their warranty.

All of their work is covered by a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty except for when parts are provided by the customer (my trans is covered but the clutch is not).

In addition to transmissions, they are an (almost) full-service repair and service center and will do anything from oil changes to full overhauls (except brakes). My mother has used them for all of her automotive needs for nearly 15 years and now that I have experience with them as well, I can certainly see why.

The manager, Chad, is who I would suggest asking for if you are calling to inquire about anything. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. The owner, Bob, is also good to work with but he is semi-retired and not around much.

They are located at: 1040 S Joliet St, Aurora, CO 80012 (about 1/2mile east of Havana and Mississippi on the north side of Mississippi behind the Firestone shop)

Car felt quite weird driving it the other day and noticed a broken wheel stud when we got down to my dad's office for lunch. Went over because it was close by, and actually had someone come over to his office to fix it. Was very thorough and checked all the other lugs on each wheel for proper torque and to make sure none of the other studs would break. Turns out one did and got both fixed the same day we went over. Very friendly and helpful.

Anyone have any experience with Import Sports Performance over off Iliff and Quebec.

Place has been around as long as I can remember and it looks like they have an import specialists repair shop now.

They are very close to me, considering hitting them up for maintenance and repairs from now on. Anybody have experience?

Import Performance has got a pretty decent reputation for standard car work. However, IIRC, they also do tuning and such which hasn't been as successful. Not bad-mouthing them in any way, though. For standard car maintenance, they should be fine.
