burnall4
I'm sure this had been covered before but after 2 hrs of looking through threads I cant take it anymore! haha I owned a 05' LGT before this and used Rotella T6 5w-40. it's almost time for me to change the oil on this one and i was wondering if anyone had any experience using the Rotella in the 3.0R motors. i drive all highway and go 5000 on an oil change. thanks in advance! JJr
Good question! I use the Rotella too, not sure on the 3.0.
CapnJack
I've used the T6 5W-40 on my 3.0 and the only thing I noticed was a 2MPG decrease in mileage when I changed. I posted my results on here and everyone thought I was nuts, but it was reproducible every time. When I switched back to 5W30, my mileage came back. When I switched to T6 it dropped by exactly 2MPG. What climate do you live in? It may be a bit thick for below freezing weather.
burnall4
I'm in upstate NY so right now it's COLD. lol I let it warm up for 5 min's in the AM. i dont mind having the protection of a slightly thicker oil. im not afraid of heavy oil at all anyway. i run 20w-50 Brad Penn in my Evo. but that's not exactly stock. TheBlackPearl
Your title is misleading, hahahaha. I thought "first oil change on an '06? It's 2012, Someone missed a couple OCI's!" Hahaha Self proclaimed PNW Craiglist find of the day Champion, April 2014.
