rayeve
On a 2005 NA Legacy wagon, can a good DYI garage mechanic do the control arm and sway bar bushing replacements in the garage, or is there enough hydraulic press work involved that it will have to be a professional shop doing the work? Thanks.
zzztech13
I did it myself in my driveway. Do some research, read some walkthroughs and know that it will take a little bitching. You can do it! You can take the LCS'a to a shop to have the bushings pressed out/in, or rent a tool.
ras06LGT
Sway bar bushings are very easy to do at home. Without a press the LCA bushings are going to be much more difficult. It might be possible, but I used a friend's press when doing mine so I didn't have to get creative. You can probably cut out the old ones pretty easily with a Sawzall or something (being careful not to damage the race on the control arm), but pressing the new ones in might be a bit too much for the bench vice method.
