Help installing Zero Sports grill

So I bought a second hand zero sports grill and it seems as though it won't fit properly.

I have a jdm Legacy GT 2005(im from NZ) and was told that it should fit.

However while attempting to place it, the bonnet latch(the thing used to open the bonnet) gets in the way of the mesh.

Compared to the stock grill, which doesn't even cross paths with the bonnet latch.

I'm wondering if this will fit at all, also thinking about taking it to a panelbeater for some help.

Any sugesstions fellas?

I've just come back from the panelbeater and he said that its not gonna fit

The grill is pretty much too big, even when put on the bonnet wont close properly and its not really possible to access the bonnet latch.. what gives??

Please is there anyone out there who has successfuly put one of these on?:spin:

yes, pre face-lift. Have a look at the headlights in this thread from clubsub:

look at post #9 you can see the different shapes of the headlights on the 2 black wagons. Your shape is on the left, face-lift on the right. they had slightly deeper grills too.

p.s. i'm on clubsub under the same username

So there are two different versions for 05?

I just picked up an 05 lgt, manufacturer date is 08/04. Does this mean I also have a pre-face lift legacy?

I was really looking into getting a different grill like the zerosports grill. If I do have pre faceilft. what are my options for similar grills?

05 is pre-face lift.

R-Rev makes a nice CF grill. RBS and AVO make mesh grills as well. RavSpec is developing a JDM style mesh grill as well (see group buy section).
