Keep the car... until I have the space/funds to take her off your hands :lol:

Do you drive her in the winter, being you in new jersey curious with with lack of miles what's the underside look like?

Or did you have it protectively coated from the get go...

A couple of months ago i took #313 home to start its revival. It wasnt in terrible shape but had been in a sideswipe wreck a while back with some amatuer body work done. Timing belt had been done a while back but it was rubbing the crank guide. And the banks were 1 tooth off eachother. Lots of missing clamps in the engine bay. Mismatched tires and general lack of love. The previous owner needs to find a better mechanic that puts all the bolts and clamps back. It runs decent now. Turned a 14.6 on a soft launch at the dragstrip with just a tune. More repairs and mods to come.

313 is in the middle of having the longblock built. Engine is out right now and i cant remeber the exact mileage as it site but its in the 150k's. During an oil change found some disturbing large peices of brass and iron. Tore the engine down to find the failure. I never did find any broken parts but rod bearings on cylinder 2 had heavy wear and cylinder 3 had started to spin. And a couple of sleeves had some flaking/pitting i didnt like. I dropped the longblock off with Ball Engine yesterday to get all the machine work done. The plan as of right now is mahle pistons, undecided on rods as of yet but scat or manley are likely. It will be a few more months before its back on the road. When its back up it will be with a turbo upgrade, leaning towards bnr 20g and a budget mic right now. Fuel system will be upgraded as well. Ideally for an e85 setup. Finally assembly will be done by myself but ill be seeking a pro for tuning.

per OP request: spec b #474 now owned by myself, in Flint ,MI area. stage 2, great shape. 138k miles.

pictures in front of an icon, or not true. :spin:

I left Flint in the early 90's. Looking at aerial maps over the years has been disheartening as the landmarks I remember no longer exist.

Yes, it has changed a lot. For the worse, and recently for the better( barring the water crisis of course). New SMFW and South Bend stg 2 endurance clutch in the spec B, running strong. Thinking turbo/ fueling upgrade next.

This is Not a reply ,,but simply a query ,,asking the voluminous info that is available on here,,,I'm not kidding..

I was going to Empire casino on route -46 linking N.J. To the G.W. Bridge,,it was late maybe 11:30pm,,,,,I hit a pothole ,,size yet to be determined ,,however I reached my destination,,,and when leaving found my right rear tire flat.I managed with some fix a flat to make it home and set up an appointment with a garage,,,,in that 1 mile trip,,my right Front went down,,,,

I found that both right or passenger wheels/rims were cracked....

Since those wheels play such an integral part of the overall looks,,,,and the near impossibility of getting the original part wheels ,,,

What are my options,,,,,I can't even sell it (18 ) ,,,as an 06 ,,without that unmistakeable look,,and believe it or not,,I only have 37.2 K miles on it ,,and meticulously maintained,,,,,,

What am I to do....

Any help,suggestions,,,would be Greatly Appreciated...

Hi Toad...

I have to say that you are a very funny individual. I have noticed that you do not post very often, but when you do, I take notice. Keep posting my friend! I just wanted to inform you that you can buy our wheels from Subaru, and since you cracked your wheels while driving insurance would cover the cost of getting you two new wheels, and tires if you need them.

In Seattle we have some terrible potholes and I also bent one of mine after I hit one going 45, it totally sucked, my insurance helped me locate a new 18" Spec B Wheel wraped in 225 50r 18 Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3 tires. To match the other 3.

My B #161 has 172,000 miles on the original engine, I put in a larger turbo on, 4 years ago, not because of any issues but when I redid my exhaust I thought why not. Car runs just like a little kid still. But I do change my oil every 3K miles, and I check my oil weekly. I have to say I love this car, more and more.... I just don't see another car I like better. I hope this helps.... cheers, Toad.

Dear Ginger,,,

As Gary Oldman once said in a Francis F. Coppola version of ,,Dracula( my grandparents actually came from there,,Really) ,,after hearing a few wolves howl ,,he said to Kanuwee Reeves ,,,,"That's Music ,,To My Ears"

If gotten,,,it would regain the look that was intoxicating to me,,,when I the showroom floor in town motors,,Englewood N.J.

I'll attempt to send you my phone number,,,via a message,,that is if I can remember how..

I already bought,or my pseudo mechanic bought another 10 spoke wheel ,,,,,,but way different.

Might I ask their condition....?

I'll be sending you the pertnents...

anyone who has #131, I have a cool 3D Shift knob for Spec B 131

The top is red brick, and the sides say Spec B #131. I would get it to the person no charge. I teach a 3D Printing class and one of the students tried to make me a gift, but he put in the wrong numbers...

So who ever had #131 let us know.

Cheers.

Here's #315, which I rescued from a Subaru dealership's pre-owned department in Detroit. The sales office had no idea what was on their lot. I asked a lady to check and see if there was a numbered plate on the shifter bezel. Turns out, yes, there was!

So, I bought it, had it shipped to Denver, smogged & registered it, then drove it to Sacramento, where the wrecked hulk of #271 was dismantled and the cool parts transferred to this one (JDM twinscroll, pinks, Brembo's, et al), plus a very nice 6mt swap. All was designed to stay as OEM as possible. The car features:

* TD04HL-19t twinscroll turbo setup

* JDM engine covers

* SPT exhaust

* AVO downpipe

* FluiDampr harmonic balancer

* Cobb AP running previous dyno tune on #271 by MZM Performance

* STi Brembo brakes

* STi "Pink" coil springs on stock USDM Bilsteins

* Whiteline swaybars F&R with lock collars

* AVO rear swaybar reinforcement brackets, powder-coated flat grey

* STi front strut brace

* STi lower arm bar

* JDM "tuned by STi" wheels

* Bridgestone RE050A run-flats, 225/40/18

* JDM transmission (TY856WVBAA w/long gears 2-6 from RalliSpec)

* R160 rear diff 3.90 LSD (from WRX)

* custom driveshaft

* STi shift knob

* JDM "tuned by STi" front lip

* JDM "tuned by STi" rear badge

* JDM "tuned by STi" sill plates

* P-204UH head unit w/SiriusXM module
