TylerSVT
Been looking at LGT's for a while now, i think despite their issues tar its the car i want. Anyways, I'm in a but of a dilemma; my current car is worth about 13k which puts me into avg LGT territory range for 05 years. So i could buy one now, or, i could wait until next spring when i get my bonus and tax return and get an 08 spec B. What would you do?
Balrock
What issues? These cars make great power even with exploded pistons. If you only have to wait one year for a Spec B, I would wait. the trannie itself is worth the wait especially if you wanna mod. My vote is wait
Max Capacity
Wait, I have both, the Spec is that good. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Engine Build - Click Here
Hepy117
I love my spec B. The only thing I dislike it the stock Nav. It's not the best but it's better than none. I would love to put a carpc in it's place but I don't want to spend $1k on something the car already has.
whitetiger
the 6mt and torsen rear alone are worth saving for, especially if you plan to mod for power.

I like my Tom Tom 100 times more then the indash unit. Free updates too. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). muajg
Wait, but know that there are 05 GT owners that are also looking for 08 Spec Bs as well. Like myself.
TylerSVT
Looks like ill just buy a crappy 4K truck for the winter and then sell it come spring (or whenever i have the cash). Better than having payments IMO.
.blackgt.
What's your location? Why do you consider a 4k truck crappy? You can pick up a nice shape mazda b4000 4x4 for cheap or plenty of other manufacturers. A tacoma would be nice for a winter too.
Kingfish
The value of your car will decrease in a year. Will the bonus/ tax (a poor choice on how to spend both : shrug: ) cover the continued depreciation on your current car?
HansGT
wait if you can

I'm in Alberta Canada, 4K isn't a crappy truck by any means but not the best vehicle to have. The one I'm looking at is actually A B4000 with winter tires and A 5 spd. The value of your car will decrease in a year. Will the bonus/ tax (a poor choice on how to spend both : shrug: ) cover the continued depreciation on your current car? The truck might go down 500 bucks which isn't a whole lot, most likely my bonus is small, my tax return will be significant though due to tax credits from being a student. I think that plus saving should net me something decent (plus the 10k extra i would have used on a car). Got a new house so I might dump some cash into that or a vacation. Sucks cause i really wanted a LGT for winter this year, but i can wait i suppose.
