Max Capacity
I love to walk in there, so many interesting things to look at. As I was leaving there was this long 6 cylinder head. I looked at it and said 4 valves per cylinder and then say oh BMW. The guy paid $2000 for the replacement head, because his cracked. Then he brought it to them to rebuilt the replacement. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Max Capacity
No, it looked my pickup over real good and there are no hints of cracks in the joints. Eastwoods will clean it real good before they put it on. I'll have them look it over too. Mine is a early 05 so I don't think anyone has had a problem with the tube cracking with early 05's. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. Yep, got them, the 4 half moons for free, along with the 2 oil actuator gaskets. The oil pan is on with all new bolts because I forgot to bring them. They painted the oil pan too. Max Capacity
the oil pan comes black from subaru That is true, but mother nature makes it rusty color... Trying to come up with a way to keep the oil cooler crossover tube from rusting so badly. Undercoating won't work because its to close to the exhaust. May be some high temp paint. We removed the banjo filter from the drivers side head today too. The one on the back of the passenger side head was removed when the P0011 and P0021 codes popped up in Feb 11. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x40/92Si/DSCN4716.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x40/92Si/DSCN4715.jpg Edited May 10, 2012 by Max Capacity 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. Max Capacity
Did a little more work today. Put the new intake hose to the turbo on, the old one had a small tare on the turbo end. Put the bottom together, oil cooler, cooler crossover tube and new hoses. Put the top water tube on. Then realized I had to put the valve cover water hoses on too. I want to replace them first, I'll order them tomorrow. Also need 8 crush washers for the oil feed banjo's and the water feed to the turbo banjo. They were not in the gasket kit. I took bmx045 idea and cleaned up the underside of the TVG's too. That was a good idea. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x40/92Si/DSCN4770.jpg Here's one of the intake ports after porting, there was more work done down around the valve pocket too. The exhaust side was all in the valve pocket. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x40/92Si/DSCN4772.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x40/92Si/DSCN4773.jpg some more general pictures, http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x40/92Si/DSCN4771.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x40/92Si/DSCN4768.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x40/92Si/DSCN4767.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x40/92Si/DSCN4775.jpg Edited May 13, 2012 by Max Capacity 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs.
